History & Mission

History
In 2001, the Center for Autism was formed to meet the needs of children and adults with autism and related developmental disabilities, their families, public and private schools and the community. For nearly a decade, the Center has been providing the highest quality of care based on current research and state-of-the art assessment and treatment protocols.

In recognition of the Fay J. Lindner Foundation's support and commitment to the Center's development, the Center for Autism was renamed the Fay J. Lindner Center for Autism & Developmental Disabilities. In spring 2009, the program relocated to a new state-of-the-art facility on AHRC Nassau's beautiful, park-like Brookville campus. In its new location, the Center continues to offer a wide range of programs and clinical services to individuals, families and schools. With the significant resources afforded by its affiliation with AHRC Nassau and the North Shore – Long Island Jewish Health System,, the Center is well-positioned to continue to develop innovative, cutting-edge programming in clinical service and training.

With the addition of the Center for Autism, AHRC Nassau now offers a wide variety of opportunities for children and adults with autism, intellectual and other developmental disabilities on one convenient campus in Brookville. The Lindner Center is located adjacent to the Pearl & Jack Ain Advantage Care Diagnostic & Treatment Center and the Brookville Center for Children's Services.
